Backend Engineer

While maintaining core Tablet Hotels products, our team also leads design and development for the MICHELIN Guide. Projects are becoming increasingly ambitious as we continue to expand internationally. We’re growing in order to support an evolving product ecosystem for two brands with feature parity across three mobile apps and two websites. 

Our backend team is focused on supporting and expanding the functionality of our booking engine, payment processing, and inventory management systems used by MICHELIN Guide and Tablet Hotels platforms. Sitting on the ARI team (Availability, Rates, and Inventory), you’ll report to our Lead Backend Engineer and work on the engine that powers hotel pricing and booking. The ARI team is critical to our sales and distribution teams in maintaining competitive advantage. We offer opportunities for ownership, autonomy, and collaboration with various teams throughout the organization.

Current ARI initiatives include:

• Optimizing queuing, caching, and computational efficiency of our most important endpoints
• Improving our technological capacity to compete in metasearch
• Replacing and revitalizing our software platform for hotels
• Optimized 3rd party integrations
• Improved tooling for sales
• Improved user tools

Requirements:

• 5+ years software engineering experience with Python
• Confidence with *nix based command-line tools
• Experience designing RESTful API services
• Experience in an OTA and/or experience with inventory management and pricing
• Experience with Stripe
  

This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in our New York City office.

$130 - 145k Annual salary based on experience
